Stars in the Sky contacted us in early 2005 to design an accessible, easy to use website for their unique organisation. The website was to be used as an online tool, increasing company exposure and assisting in the promotion of their dating and friendship service for adults with learning difficulties.
To create initial impact a photographer was hired to take a number of positive images for the websites homepage. To keep the homepage feeling new we decided to randomly rotate each photograph, regular visitors would then be welcomed with a different picture each time they returned.
An image-based section was developed to enable users who had difficulty reading to gain knowledge of the services provided. This section also features a number of illustrative icons, an intuitive navigation system and only a modest amount of easy to read text.
The Stars in the Sky website is built on top of a Standards Compliant Content Management System that enables staff to keep the content fresh and up to date.
